God wants us to trust him in every circumstance of our lives no matter what it looks like. We demonstrate that trust by being at peace and confident that God will show up for us always. Ultimately the victory God wants to demonstrate are two pronged to meet our expectation- sometimes not exactly how we thought he would- and let his glory be known.
In the course of our lives we meet with circumstances that appear impossible and insurmountable. These circumstances might challenge the very core of our existence, such that we begin to despair. For some reason it is easier to assume that it can only get worse, especially if you have the naysayers around you. One is often tempted to ask God why? Well! Why not? Jeremiah 29:11 says he knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb. It also means he knew the path our lives was likely to take. Our only duty is to trust and obey. Romans 8:28 says ALL THINGS, not some things work together for our good.
At those times we think life has dealt us with the short end of the stick, what our attitude will be, is determined largely by the principles, the foundation on which we have built our lives and our thought pattern amongst others. If the word of God has been that foundation, then we are in a good place. A lot again depends on how we have built. How have you built? It is going to be tested –Zachariah 13:9. Are you going to pass and move unto the next level or stay there and despair? The sooner we pass the test the better for us. The key ingredient here is not to resist the experience. Like the saying goes “if you are going through hell don’t stop”. If you’ve ever watched a child resist being disciplined by a parent who is determined, you’d notice that the sooner the child cooperates with the parent, the sooner he/she will be let off the hook. As long as that child continues to struggle the more the parent is displeased and the longer the situation lingers on. We have to learn to wait -Isaiah 40:31; stand your ground-Ephesians 6:13; and to be still- Psalm 46:10; whatever happens we hang in there. At the appointed time our deliverance would come. There is always an appointed time- Habakkuk 2:3.
God wants to refine us as precious metals are, in order to purify us, and make us more stable and suitable for the Masters use. The process isolates the wheat in us from the chaff. We all need to go through some furnace of affliction. He knows us enough to give us what we can bear. No affliction that comes our way is capable of breaking us if you dwell in the secret place of the Most High-Psalm 91. He wants us mature and complete. James1:2-4. I am yet to see a mature person without a story. It takes time and steadfastness.
All of our situation will ultimately work out for our good, if we let go and let God take the rein of your life. The finished product may not look anything like we thought, but it would give more satisfaction than we could have imagined.
Trust the Lord with every circumstance of your life, everything facet of your life- with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Why? Because his ways are higher than our ways his thoughts higher than our thoughts. He sees the end from the beginning and we don’t. Consider that Christ’s death was for a purpose and Satan helped to fulfill it. If he knew the ultimate goal God had in letting him execute that plan, he wouldn’t have done it. When we trust God wholeheartedly Satan plots against us become tools to aid us. To catapult us into God’s desired end for us. We however have to pay the price of patience, endurance and perseverance.
In case you are thinking you cannot, think again, what alternate do you have? Remember broad is the road that leads to destruction, and narrow is… Matthew 7:13-14. You either pay the lighter prize now for a glorious end or the heavier one later with perhaps an unpleasant end. You choose and choose wisely.
